As I read a fiction story tonight, one line in the story “…and civil rights matters involving gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender and absolute [naturist] rights.” inspired me to rethink the idea of “discovering” I was a nudist. Here is why: I have frequently written of discovering naturism in my late teens, but after reading this one sentence I feel compelled to approach the idea of “BECOMING” a nudist differently, and this may impact the ways in which we appeal for and pursue legal rights. Please consider this: If a person does not “become” gay, they simply achieve a realization of having been gay all their life, and a lesbian or bi-sexual person also arrives at a point in life where KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE allow them to realize a “new” sexual orientation, this milestone does not mean they changed something about themselves.

So, maybe the simple fact is I was always a nudist (or naturist) and did not change a fundamental character trait, or personality aspect, I simply became educated enough to begin understanding the feelings I probably had all my life!

If the desire to BE nude, live nude, and share nude experiences with others is a basic part of the human experience, then it may very well be something entitled to legal standing.

Naturism/Nudism Family – a
child is a small person, helpless for so many years, dependent to an entrusted
mothers responsibility and love.  A mother’s love is eternal and
unconditional. The actions a mother will take to protect her children is
infinite.

The mother who loves their
children, teaches them that there is no shame in accepting the human body and
soul as it is. When a mother teaches, practices and lives this advice, she has
taught her children one of life’s most important lessons.  She knows that
beauty comes from within, not on what is seen and passes that knowledge on to
her children to help them live healthier lives.. 

Family nudism is good for
parents and it’s good for children. Children will have happier lives and
understand the normalcy of the human body. Teaching shame to children is
harmful. Teach them truth instead. Their bodies are not evil.  To say so
is to create problems that need not exist.

Adding text to any tumblr post is like voting in an election! Okay, I mean, reposting an images must mean we like/love it, but that tells nothing about WHY we like it. Promoting symbolism is fine, but teaching, coaching, advocating or mentoring needs a bit more!

(Example: I very much wanted to put my body where my mouth is, in other words, to WORK at a local nudist resort, but the low wages have made it impossible so far. We should be able to pay more than $12 per hour for key public facing, educator-advocate roles!)

Children are born free of clothes, shame & prejudices but they are taught about these things as they grow towards adulthood.
